Bill Cosby guilty on all three counts in indecent assault trial, jury decides


The jury in Bill Cosby's indecent assault trial found the comedian guilty Thursday of all three counts.
Cosby was convicted on three counts of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand in a Philadelphia suburb in 2004. The 80-year-old former comedian faces up to 10 years in prison on each count, but would likely serve them concurrently.
The panel began deliberating Wednesday around 11 a.m., and worked for more than 14 hours over two days to reach the verdict.

Osinbajo decries growing persecution of Christians


The Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, has stated that there is a growing persecution of Christians in the country including in places where they are being prevented from erecting their places of worship, pointing out that the devil is out to stoke religious tension in Nigeria.

Some worshipers of Life Refiners Power Centre, on Thursday, died in a lone accident involving the church bus at Azigbo road heading to Amichi in Anambra State.

Reports said many passengers of the coastal bus were injured in the fatal accident that happened around 4:30 am.

It was also gathered that the accident caused a gridlock along the expressway as the victims were evacuated and taken to the hospital.

EFCC gets no share on assets recovered- Ibarhim Magu


The Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, on Wednesday, April 25th told the House Committee on Public Accounts and Finance that the Commission does not generate revenue or get any percentage on assets recovered or forfeited to government.

“All recoveries by the Commission are paid into the consolidated revenue fund account after due processes had been followed”, he added
