Angela Raiola, known to fans as Mob Wives' Big Ang, has lost her battle with stage 4 cancer. She was 55 years old.
In March 2015, doctors removed a lemon sized tumor from the left side of Big Ang's throat. She had been diagnosed with throat cancer, doctors say likely due to smoking. Big Ang quit smoking immediately and in June 2015, had the tumor removed from the right side of her throat as well. All seemed to be going well but unfortunately in December, Ang's cancer had returned. It was also reported that it spread to her brain and lungs. She was given a 30% chance at survival.
The news of her passing comes just one day after Big Ang's appearance on Dr. Oz was televised. Big Ang is survived by her sister, Janine Detore, her two children, Raquel and Anthony Donfrio, and six grandchildren.
